
Mohamad-Gabriel Alameh is a Co-founder of Kosha Sciences, where he brings deep expertise in lipid chemistry, formulation, immunology, and preclinical development. He helps connect Kosha's computational designs to the experimental work required to turn them into effective delivery systems.
Mohamad-Gabriel is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Penn Medicine and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He built and directs Penn's Engineered mRNA and Targeted Nanomedicine Core and co-directs the RNA Core at the Penn Institute for RNA Innovation. His research spans the design, synthesis, formulation, and in vivoevaluation of RNA delivery systems, advancing technologies from fundamental design through preclinical validation and clinical translation. He contributed the RNA design and optimization for the world's first personalized CRISPR-based gene-editing therapy, developed for infant KJ Muldoon.
Mohamad-Gabriel earned his PhD in biomedical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and his BSc and MSc from the Université de Montréal. He joined the Weissman lab as a postdoctoral fellow in 2018.
